A song can begin with a message for a friend, lyrics you’ve kept in your notes, or a demo you want to keep developing.
We’ve been working on making Mureka’s creation experience fit those different starting points. Our latest updates bring together three workflows: Agent for developing ideas through conversation, a reorganized Custom tab for shaping the details, and a dedicated Remix tab for exploring new versions of existing music.
Whether you have a first thought or a song already taking shape, there’s a place to continue.
Agent: Develop Your Music Through Conversation
Mureka Agent lets you describe what you want to create in natural language and use follow-up conversation to develop your lyrics and music. You can begin with a story, a feeling, or a purpose, then work toward the sound you have in mind.
Start with What You Want to Say
For a friend’s birthday song, the most meaningful material might be your shared memories. For a song about moving away, it might be the mix of excitement and sadness that comes with leaving somewhere familiar.
Open Agent on Mureka’s creation page and enter your idea in the conversation box. For example:
“Write a birthday song for my best friend. We met at university and still get lost on every road trip. Make it affectionate and funny, with an upbeat indie-pop feel.”
The people, details, and emotions give your song direction. Conversation helps you develop them into lyrics and music.
Keep Shaping the Idea as You Go
As an idea develops, you often discover what matters most. You may want a more hopeful chorus, more specific lyrics, or a more intimate vocal feel.
Keep expressing those choices:
“Make the second verse about one particular road trip, and keep the chorus focused on gratitude for our friendship.”
You can also ask for the next creative task, such as expanding lyrics or separating a song into stems for further production. Agent gives you a way to keep expressing, evaluating, and developing your intention around a connected creative goal.
Start here when you want help exploring an idea or working through several music-making steps.
Custom: Bring Your Lyrics and Musical Choices Together
Mureka Custom is for creators who want to set their lyrics, style, and vocal direction directly. The reorganized interface brings those choices into a clearer workflow, helping you turn a specific musical idea into a song.
Hear Your Own Words as Music
You may have a chorus ready or a complete set of lyrics. The next step is finding the musical setting that brings those words to life.
Open Custom on the creation page. Add your words in Lyrics, describe the genre, instrumentation, and mood in Style, and choose your vocal direction in Vocal.
A lyric about a long-distance friendship might call for warm acoustic guitar, restrained percussion, and an intimate performance. A brighter arrangement could bring out the anticipation of seeing each other again.
Your words provide the foundation. Custom helps you shape how they’re heard.
Make the Sound in Your Head More Specific
When you already have a direction, you can describe it directly:
“Warm indie folk with acoustic guitar, gentle percussion, an intimate vocal, and a chorus that gradually opens up.”
You can also use reference audio to communicate a stylistic direction. Open Advanced options to explore additional settings, including song duration and Wildness.
From lyrics and style to vocals and advanced options, Custom gives you a place to organize your creative decisions before generating. It’s a useful starting point for setting your writing to music or exploring a sound of your own.
Remix: Take Your Existing Music Further
Mureka Remix lets you explore a new style and arrangement for an existing song while keeping its core melody and lyrics. With its own dedicated tab, Remix now offers a more direct starting point for developing music you already have.
Find Another Style for a Melody You Love
Sometimes you like the song itself and want to hear what a different arrangement could reveal.
Open Remix on the creation page, select or upload a song, describe the target style, and generate a new interpretation. You could turn an original pop song into an intimate acoustic version or explore a dance-inspired direction for a ballad.
The same chorus can take on a different emotional character through rhythm and instrumentation.
Keep Developing Your Own Demo
A recording of your original song can become the beginning of another creative session.
Bring your demo into Remix and explore a fuller band sound or a more stripped-back arrangement. Working from the music you already have gives you a foundation for comparing directions and finding the version that best expresses the song.
For example:
“Reimagine this song as warm indie pop, with bass, drums, layered guitars, and a more expansive chorus.”
Create Different Versions for Different Moments
One song can have several expressions. An acoustic version might put the words at the center. An energetic arrangement might emphasize the hook. A softer interpretation could fit the atmosphere of a different video.
The dedicated Remix tab makes these possibilities easier to find, whether you’re revisiting an older track or exploring another direction for a song you just created.
Which Mureka Workflow Should You Choose?
| Your starting point | Try |
|---|---|
| A story, a feeling, or a goal you want to develop through conversation | Agent |
| Lyrics and a musical direction you want to set yourself | Custom |
| A demo or song you want to reinterpret | Remix |
The same creator can need different starting points across different projects. You might develop an idea through conversation today, choose a sound for finished lyrics tomorrow, and return to a favorite song to explore another arrangement.
We’re building a creation experience that gives each of those moments a clear next step.
