If you already have a representative photo and a voice that you own or are authorized to use, you can combine them in Mureka into a singer Character that can be used over time. It is not just a one-time Vocal choice, but a creative identity with an image, a timbre, a name, and a story.

What Is Character?

In the past, Vocal was more like a voice tool: choose a timbre, generate a song, and the creative relationship ended there. Character binds “image + voice” into one unified entity, giving an AI singer a recognizable, manageable, and shareable identity. You can name it, add tags and a Bio, upload or generate a fixed-ratio avatar, and then bind a Vocal. After that, you can quickly call up the same character for every creation.

This design solves three practical problems: creative identity can accumulate over time, songs and MVs can reuse the same character, and the character can also be discovered, liked, and used in the community.

Create Your Own Singer Character in 5 Steps

1. Open Character in Library

Go to the Character tab in Library and choose “New Character” under My.

2. Prepare the Character Avatar

An avatar is required. JPG, JPEG, and PNG are supported, the file must be no larger than 5 MB, and the aspect ratio is fixed at 3:4. You can also use AI generate to create an avatar, and the Gold cost for each generation follows the on-page prompt.

3. Complete the Name, Tags, and Bio

Character names can be up to 50 characters, and the Bio up to 200 characters. Tags should clearly describe the timbre, style, or feel of the character, for example “low female voice” or “Neo-Soul”.

4. Bind a Vocal

A Vocal is required. After entering the voice selection flow, listen and confirm, then return to the creation page if you want to choose again.

5. Save and Decide Whether to Publish

Once the avatar, name, and Vocal are ready, you can save. Publishing is on by default. After publishing, other people can discover, like, and use it; if you only want to use it yourself, you can unpublish it.

One Character Across Songs and MVs

For song generation: open the Character picker on the music generation page and choose a character from My, Official, or Liked. After you click Use, the system will automatically select that character’s Vocal. Character cards support preview playback and show the current selected state.

For MV creation: in the visual list in the MV creation flow, voiced Characters appear as selectable characters. The system uses the character avatar as the visual reference while keeping the bound voice; you can also upload an independent image, or create a Character directly from the MV page.

After Publishing, How Is the Character Discovered and Reused?

Published characters appear under the Character tab on your profile, and they may also be seen through song details, song lists, or share links. Visitors can preview the character, view the Bio and tags, like, share, or click Use to create a song. The details page shows stats such as songs, likes, and uses.

When other creators use your character to successfully generate a song, you will receive a notification. When the character is liked, you will also receive the corresponding alert. All published songs created with that character are collected on the character details page.

Authorization and Content Safety: Confirm These 3 Things Before Publishing

  • The avatar must be an image you own or have explicit permission to use. Do not upload a real person’s portrait without permission.

  • The voice must come from you, or you must have a legal license that allows AI creation and publication. Do not clone someone else’s voice.

  • The character name, Bio, and tags must not impersonate a real singer or mislead others, especially when public figures, brands, or protected characters are involved.

If a character changes from published to unpublished, the public-facing page will be hidden, but existing songs, usage records, and statistics will remain. After republishing, they can be accessed again. If the creator actively deletes the character, the character details page will no longer be visible to either the public or the owner, but songs that have already been created will not be deleted.

FAQ

What Is the Difference Between Character and Vocal?

Vocal mainly describes the voice. Character combines voice, avatar, name, tags, and Bio into a reusable singer identity.

Do I Have to Use AI to Generate the Avatar?

No. You can upload your own image.

Can Others Use My Character Directly?

Only published characters can be discovered and used by others.

Can I See When Others Use My Character?

Yes. A notification is triggered after a song is successfully generated with it, and the uses count will also be updated.

Can I Edit a Published Character?

Published characters on the web cannot be edited directly. You need to unpublish them first.

Turn One Creation into a Long-Term Reusable Identity

A photo creates a memorable anchor, a voice preserves recognizability, and Character turns the two into a sustainable creative entry point. Start by creating a clear character setup, then use it to generate songs, extend into MVs, and get feedback through community publishing. As songs, likes, and uses accumulate, your AI singer will grow from a configuration item into a creative asset that can be continually discovered and used.

Start now from the Character tab in Library: upload an avatar, bind a Vocal, and create your first dedicated singer.
