Creating a song with AI might mean typing a single sentence. Or you may already have a demo and want to complete the arrangement, replace one section, or turn the track into a music video for social media. Mureka brings these needs into one creative workflow: you can generate a song from scratch or upload your own material and keep working on it.

What Features Does Mureka Have?

Mureka’s capabilities fall into five main areas:

  1. Create Music: Use Easy or Custom to create songs from scratch, with lyric generation, Reference, Remix, Voice Clone, and Soundtrack.

  2. Create Video: Turn a song into an AI-generated music video or a lyrics video.

  3. Studio: Add tracks, separate vocals and instruments, and replace or extend selected sections in a DAW-style multitrack environment.

  4. Tools: Fine-tune existing songs with Edit, Extend, Splitter, and Trim.

  5. Mureka Co: Use natural language to access AI generation and control common operations in Ableton Live or Reaper.

In short, Mureka is more than a tool that turns text into a song. It covers the full journey from ideas, lyrics, and vocals to arrangement, mix-ready stems, video publishing, and DAW production.

1. Create Music: Start with One Sentence

Easy: Turn an Idea into a Song Quickly

Easy Mode works like an AI co-producer. Describe what you want, such as “Create an 85 BPM lo-fi hip-hop track for a late-night drive,” and Mureka automatically generates the song title, lyrics, and style description, then produces two versions.

You can keep refining the result conversationally: “Make the rhythm more upbeat” or “Change to a female vocal.” You can also choose a reference, select a vocal, or switch to instrumental-only mode. Songs are typically 2–4 minutes long, and results arrive in seconds to minutes.

Best for: Beginners without music-theory knowledge, creators who need a birthday song or atmospheric track quickly, and content teams producing many drafts.

How to use it: Open Create Music → Easy, enter a natural-language description, and send it. Listen to both versions, then Publish or continue with Remix/Edit.

Limitations: Easy currently supports text input only. Conversation context is saved per session, so starting a new chat does not carry over the previous creative context.

Custom: More Control for Creators

Custom is designed for people who already have a clear direction. You can write lyrics, upload a reference audio file, set the style and vocal, and then generate the song.

Lyrics Generator: Create or Optimize Lyrics

If you only have a theme, AI can write a complete set of lyrics from scratch. If you already have a draft, Optimize polishes and rewrites it while preserving the original meaning. Output supports structure tags such as [Verse], [Chorus], and [Bridge], along with multiple languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.

Generated lyrics are editable suggestions. For complex narratives or very long lyrics, review section length, rhyme, and emotional progression manually before generating the song.

Reference: Upload Audio and Create a New Work with a Similar Feel

Reference analyzes the genre, tempo, mood, and instrumentation of an uploaded track and creates a completely new original song. It is useful when showing a sound is easier than describing it in words. For example, upload an indie-pop track and ask for a bright song with acoustic guitar.

Reference is for style inspiration only; it does not copy the original melody or recording. It supports audio formats such as MP3 and WAV, with a maximum file size of 100 MB and a duration of 10 seconds to 10 minutes. Clear, well-mixed references generally produce more stable results.

Remix: Keep the Melody and Change the Arrangement

With Remix, upload your own song or choose one from the Mureka library. The core melody and lyrics remain while the style is rearranged. For example, you can turn a pop ballad into EDM. You can also keep the original vocal or generate a new one.

Remix is a reinterpretation, not an exact genre transfer. Files are limited to 100 MB, and songs longer than four minutes may be shortened. Transformations between very different genres may require several attempts.

Vocal (Voice Clone): Create a Fixed AI Singer Character

Upload a clear vocal or a cappella sample and Mureka extracts its timbre to create a fixed singer Character. You can also extract a voice from a song you created on the platform. Add an image to the Character to give it a visual identity for future songs and music videos.

Voice Clone primarily learns vocal timbre. It does not define vocal range, melody, genre, or singing technique. It currently supports lead melody only, not harmonies, backing vocals, or humming. The uploaded audio must contain detectable vocals; purely instrumental files cannot trigger the feature.

Soundtrack: Generate Music for Videos or Images

Soundtrack reads the content, mood, and duration of a video or image and generates a matching vocal song or instrumental track. You can also specify the mood, style, and instruments in text. After generation, combine the music with the video and adjust the volume of the original audio and the new soundtrack.

Supported video formats include MP4, MOV, and MPEG, up to 300 MB and three minutes per file. Images can be JPG, JPEG, PNG, or WEBP, up to 100 MB per file.

2. Create Video: Turn Music into Publishable Content

Create Music Video: Generate a Complete MV with AI

Create Music Video generates shots from a song’s lyrics, mood, and story, and can synchronize a Character’s mouth movements with the vocals. In Storyboard mode, review the shot-by-shot plan, regenerate only the images you do not like, and start the final render when you are satisfied.

The finished MV is saved to the Workspace and can be downloaded or shared. It supports 16:9, 9:16, 3:4, and 4:3 aspect ratios for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms.

Highlights: Lyric-aware shot generation, shot-by-shot regeneration, lip-synced Characters, multiple visual styles, and automatically matched lyric subtitles.

Limitations: The audio clip must be 10–90 seconds long. Video content is fully AI-generated and does not currently support manual timeline editing. Lip-sync availability depends on the Character and requires an image with a clearly visible face. Generation costs 40 Gold per second.

Create Lyrics Video: Make a Lyrics Video with No AI Generation Cost

Create Lyrics Video provides template-based editing for quickly publishing a lyrics version. Choose a layout and background, adjust font size and color, drag text elements on a live canvas, and download the result in 16:9, 9:16, 3:4, or 4:3.

The lyrics video does not generate AI scenes; you arrange the elements on a template. The song must be saved in your Mureka library, and its full duration can be used. Download history is available in the library.

3. Studio: Continue Producing in Multitrack

Studio is Mureka’s DAW-style workspace. It is designed for creators who already have a song or audio material and want more control over the arrangement.

Add Stem Track: Add an Individual Instrument

Add drum, bass, guitar, and other instrument stems based on existing audio. AI references the original track’s musical characteristics so the new part fits its harmony and overall style. Build a complex multitrack arrangement layer by layer.

When multiple tracks are present in Studio, generation uses the initially uploaded audio by default. If you want AI to use the combined sound of several tracks, export a mix first and then use Add Stem Track again.

Add Instrumental: Complete the Backing in One Step

If you only have vocals or a melody, Add Instrumental generates a complete backing track that matches the original audio’s BPM and key. Describe the target style and instrumentation. For individual instrument control, use Add Stem Track.

Add Vocal: Add AI Vocals to a Backing Track

Add Vocal generates a vocal melody that fits the existing backing track. It supports custom lyrics and different voice types and singing styles described in text. AI determines the melody and rhythm from the backing track, so you may need several generations to find the best result.

Extract Stems: Split up to 12 Tracks and Export MIDI

Extract Stems separates vocals, bass, drums, and other instruments from a complete song into up to 12 tracks. Edit the separated tracks directly in Studio, or export high-quality audio or MIDI for Logic, Ableton, FL Studio, and other DAWs.

Complex mixes and heavy effects may cause bleed between tracks. If some instruments cannot be identified, the result may contain fewer than 12 tracks. MIDI conversion works best for melodic instruments; complex chords and percussion may be less accurate.

Replace: Rebuild Only the Section You Do Not Like

Replace regenerates a local section. Select 4–16 bars and change the lyrics, style, or both; AI maintains natural transitions with the surrounding material. It is useful for correcting a mis-sung line or replacing an unsatisfying melody without regenerating the whole song.

For changes longer than 32 bars, split the work into multiple passes. Sections that are too short may not express a style change fully.

Extend: Add an Intro, Interlude, or Outro on the Timeline

Extend expands a song forward or backward and inserts a new section at any point on the timeline without changing existing audio. AI analyzes the musical characteristics before and after the extension point to connect the new material naturally.

If the new section needs a completely different style, it is usually easier to complete the structure with Extend first and then adjust the local style with Replace.

4. Tools: Fine-Tune a Finished Song

Tools is for songs that work overall but still have a few details to fix.

  • Edit (Fine-Tune Regions): Select lyric lines and regenerate lyrics, melody, or performance. Turn on Keep melody to change only the lyrics.

  • Extend: Continue the lyrics and music from a selected point and add a new section.

  • Splitter: Separate the song into independent vocal, bass, drum, and instrument tracks, then export audio or MIDI.

  • Trim: Drag the start and end points on the waveform to keep the desired section, remove silence, and preview before applying.

Edit is best for line-by-line lyric adjustments, while Replace processes a section bar by bar on the Studio timeline. Trim only cuts; it does not change the audio content itself.

5. Mureka Co: Connect AI and Your DAW Through Conversation

Mureka Co is an AI music assistant for advanced creators. With one sentence, you can call full-song or single-track generation, Audio Ref, Remix, Extend, local editing, MIDI export, Voice Clone, and Soundtrack without switching screens.

You can also control a DAW with natural language: create, rename, delete, and mute tracks; move or delete clips; set BPM and time signature; adjust volume and pan; load plugins and arrange effect chains; import audio; and export stems or the full mix.

Mureka Co currently supports Ableton Live and Reaper on macOS and Windows. Direct import of generated results is currently connected to Ableton Live. Natural-language control requires an active connection between Mureka Co and your DAW. Before each action, Mureka shows a summary for confirmation, and you can still use the DAW’s normal undo function afterward.

Choose a Mureka Feature for Your Goal

I cannot compose. Where should I start?

Start with Easy. Describe the theme, mood, and style in one sentence, generate a complete song, and then refine it with Remix or Edit.

I have a demo and want to turn it into a complete song

Use Reference or Remix in Custom. If you only need a backing track, Add Instrumental in Studio is the right choice. To keep the original vocal while expanding the instrumentation, try Add Stem Track.

I only want to fix one mis-sung lyric line

Open Tools → Edit, select the relevant lyric line, and turn Keep melody on or off as needed. There is no need to regenerate the entire song.

I need music quickly for a short video

Upload the video or image to Soundtrack and describe the mood and instruments. Then adjust the volume of the original audio and the music, and download the final video.

I want to continue working in Ableton or another DAW

First export audio or MIDI with Extract Stems. In Mureka Co’s conversational import workflow, direct writing of generated results is currently focused on Ableton Live; for other DAWs, import the exported files.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can Mureka generate a complete song?

Yes. Easy and Custom can both generate complete songs with lyrics and music. Custom also supports custom lyrics, reference audio, styles, and vocals. Easy creates two versions per generation, and songs are typically 2–4 minutes long.

Does Mureka support English lyrics?

Yes. Lyrics Generator can create and optimize English lyrics, as well as lyrics in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and other languages. You can edit the generated lyrics manually afterward.

Can Mureka clone my voice?

Yes. Vocal (Voice Clone) can create a fixed singer Character. It mainly uses vocal timbre as a reference and does not directly determine vocal range, melody, or genre. Harmonies, backing vocals, and humming are not currently supported, and the uploaded audio must contain detectable vocals.

Can I upload my own audio or video to Mureka?

Yes. Audio can be used for Reference, Remix, Extend, local editing, MIDI export, and Voice Clone. Images and videos are mainly used for Soundtrack and video creation. Each feature has its own format, size, and duration limits.

Can Mureka separate a song into vocals and accompaniment?

Yes. Splitter and Extract Stems can isolate vocals, bass, drums, and other instruments into up to 12 stems and export them as audio or MIDI. Complex mixes may produce bleed, and MIDI conversion has limitations for complex chords and percussion.

Does Mureka’s Remix copy the original song?

No. Remix keeps the core melody and lyrics while reorganizing the style. Reference analyzes style and generates a new original work. Neither feature copies the original recording note for note.

Which DAWs does Mureka support?

Mureka Co’s natural-language DAW control currently supports Ableton Live and Reaper on macOS and Windows. One-click import of generated results is connected to Ableton Live. You can use exported stems or MIDI in other DAWs.

Conclusion: Who Is Mureka For?

If you want to turn an idea into a song quickly, Easy offers an accessible conversational workflow. If you have lyrics, a demo, or reference audio, Custom and Studio give you more control. When a track is nearly finished, Tools’ local regeneration, separation, and trimming reduce repetitive work. And if you work in Ableton Live or Reaper, Mureka Co combines AI generation and DAW operations in a single conversation.

Mureka’s approach is simple: choose the feature that matches your current stage and refine the result step by step instead of starting over each time. Open Mureka, choose your creative entry point, make a first version, and then use editing, extension, and multitrack tools to shape it into your own sound.
